Our Company

This family concern company was set up in 1985 to process and pack a range of delicatessen products for the local market. These started being marketed under the "Discus" brand.

The " Discus" brand has come to be regarded as a guarantee of quality and has enabled the company to capture a significant portion of this highly competitive market.

In order to cope with the increasing demand, the company invested in larger production facilities and the latest technologies to enable it to pursue export markets more aggressively.

The company moved from the premises in Valletta to new facilities in Mosta offering a four fold production space where a greater emphasis is placed on production technology, quality control and hygiene.

Whilst maintaining its local market share in the full range of products, the company is concentrating on the production of grated cheese, glacé (candied) cherries and candied peel for export. The current weekly production capacity for these products amounts to 20 tonnes of cheese, 10 tonnes of glacé cherries and 10 tonnes of candied peel. A considerable amount of interest has already been forthcoming from overseas markets for these products.

With such rapid growth the company is on the threshold of a new and exciting phase in its already successful history.

The directors of the company are Noel and Joseph Micallef.
